Save time with labels

Labels let you organize campaigns, ad groups, ads, and keywords into groups based on what’s most important to you.

You can now efficiently manage your labels' shared library, and add them to multiple campaigns, ad groups, ads, and keywords. Once you have added them, you can then filter on your labels from Advanced Search to see only the items you want.

Better age and gender target management

You can now manage your age and gender targeting from the Manager pane. Bid adjustments for each age range and gender give you the control you need to effectively manage campaign performance and return on ad spend.

Non-editable targets

After you create them, the following targets' details cannot be updated, except for bid adjustment:

  • Ad schedule
  • Locations
  • Excluded locations
  • Device type
  • Age
  • Gender

If you need to change one of these targets, please delete it and create a new one.

Campaign and ad group level targeting

Advanced location options has been removed from the Locations tab and added to the Campaigns and Ad groups tabs under the name Targeting method.

Removal of monthly budget

Bing Ads no longer supports monthly budgets. In Bing Ads Editor, Budget type is no longer shown in the Campaigns tab, and we have changed the name of Budget to Daily budget.

Note: If you had a monthly budget, no action is necessary on your part to keep your ads running. However, you may want to review the daily budget amount we set (by dividing your monthly budget by 30.4) and your Daily budget options (standard vs. accelerated). Learn more

Multi-select in left Tree View

You can now select multiple Campaigns and Ad groups from the left Tree View pane. This will allow you to quickly filter out desired items on the grid and edit them simultaneously. Also, you can intuitively drag multiple Campaigns and Ad groups selected from the left Tree View from one account and drop them in another account.

This is only supported in Bing Ads Editor for Windows at this time.

Multi-language support in Campaigns

Bing Ads Editor now allows you to set multiple languages for your Campaigns as well as single ad group level languages. This broadens your campaign’s target audience for sets of sites with different languages.

Performance improvements

Switching between different Statistics views is faster than ever. Bing Ads Editor now caches the statistics data for up to five date ranges that were previously used. Now, when you switch back to the view with a previously selected date range, the data does not need to be redownloaded, in turn, making the operation quicker.

Better device target management

You can now efficiently manage your device targeting from the grid. Control what device your ads connect with customers based on what’s best for your business. Bid adjustments for each device type (Computer, Tablet, Mobile) give you the control you need to effectively manage campaign performance and return on ad spend.

Auto bidding to maximize clicks

The maximize clicks automated-bidding strategy is designed to save you time by automatically setting your bids to help you get as many clicks as possible. Bing Ads Editor now supports this new bid strategy type under Campaigns. Ad groups and Keywords can inherit this bid strategy type from its parent group or simply set it to Manual CPC.

Default value in Audience Associations creation workflow

When you create Audience Associations, a default value, which can be modified, will be pre populated for you during the creation workflow. You no longer have to go back to the Editor pane and update the bid adjustment after creating the Audience Associations.

Better support for Keyword import

If you use symbols instead of explicit match type for your keywords in your import file, Bing Ads Editor now correctly recognizes phrase and exact match type. For example: Keyword "flowers" and [flowers] will be imported as phrase and exact match type respectively. If no symbols are used they will be considered as broad match type.

We improved the importing process of duplicate items. In Bing Ads Editor v11, all duplicate items were flagged with a duplicate error and you had to manually select and delete the duplicate items. In Bing Ads Editor v11.2, any duplicate items except one, will be skipped, eliminating the need for you to manually delete them.

  • Copy just the keyword text of selected keywords, making it easier to paste them into an editor such as Microsoft Excel.

Greater control over getting and posting

Improved import

We've made a few changes that will help you import your campaigns:

  • Our location mapping has been updated so that more locations will be successfully imported.
  • The default has been changed so that all active campaigns are imported, with options to import paused campaigns and to search for specific campaigns.
  • You can now select an option to adjust your bids and budgets to meet Bing Ads Editor's minimum requirements.
  • And if you are importing a file from Google AdWords, you will now have all of the same import options available with other types of import.

More flexibility in managing shared negative keyword lists

You can now cut, copy and paste negative keywords from one shared list to another. Simply go to Shared library > Negative Keywords > Neg. keywords in list. Select the keywords you want to copy, right-click and cut or copy. You can then paste those negative keywords into another list or into a specific campaign or ad group. Similarly, you can right-click, then cut or copy negative keywords already in a campaign or ad group and add them to a shared list or different campaign or ad group.

You can also drag and drop a shared list from the Neg. keywords lists tab to a campaign in the Browser pane to associate that list with the campaign.

New tabs to provide easier navigation

For easier navigation, particularly on smaller screens, we have rearranged the tabs in Bing Ads Editor. Here are some of the changes:

  • Text, Product and Mobile ad tabs are now at a second level, under the top-level Ads tab.
  • The Product Targets tab has been moved to the second level, under the top-level Targeting tab.
  • Negative keyword list associations are now on the Shared library > Negative Keywords tab.

Eliminate unwanted traffic across campaigns with the negative keyword library

With the new shared library feature in Bing Ads and Bing Ads Editor, you can apply entire lists of negative keywords to multiple and future campaigns. It makes negative keyword management easy because, to make a change to multiple campaigns, you only have to edit a single list.

Unified device targeting

As first announced in June, desktops, laptops and tablets are now combined into a single device target. Any campaigns that previously only targeted desktops and laptops will additionally begin targeting tablets. Similarly, any campaigns that previously only targeted tablets will also begin to target desktops and laptops. To ensure that you have the flexibility to manage the performance differences between tablets and desktops, you can now also adjust your tablet bid from -20% to +300%.

Targeting improvements

We've made several changes that will help you target your campaigns more effectively:

  • Your time of day targeting can now be in 15-minute increments.
  • You can now target a specific zip code in the U.S..
  • You can target customers who are looking for information about a specific location, but are not physically searching from that location.
  • You can now have up to 10,000 geographic targets.

An improved way to download statistics

Downloading statistics in Bing Ads Editor is now compatible with Google AdWords. Bing Ads Editor no longer automatically downloads statistics during the Get recent changes or Get full account processes, making it faster to download accounts from Bing Ads online. You can continue to download statistics using the date ranges in the Show statistics drop-down menu. Bing Ads Editor will show the corresponding date range to remind advertisers of the date range represented by their statistics.

The Bing Ads Editor MSI file is now available for you to download from the official Microsoft download site. We’ve also provided a link in the Bing Ads Editor sign-in window for direct access to proxy server configuration.

Streamlined messages in the user interface

We’ve revamped our user interface with new feature announcements and an updated way for you to give feedback. Upon launching Bing Ads Editor, you’ll see alerts and a list of new features when available. Clicking Give feedback will take you to a Bing Ads forum to browse and provide suggestions.
