Import data using a file

Easily import your campaigns from Bing Ads or AdWords Editor into Bing Ads Editor. For Bing Ads Editor, there are three ways you can import data:

  1. Export data from Bing Ads Editor, make changes, and import the file back in to Bing Ads Editor.
  2. Create a new file using a Bing Ads template.
  3. Export data from Google AdWords, make changes, and import the file back in to Bing Ads Editor.
Notes
  • The file must be an Excel or CSV (comma-separated values) file and must be closed before you try to import it.
  • If you are importing location targets see this article for information on how to find location IDs.

  1. Select the campaigns or ad groups from the tree view in the left panel that you want to edit and import back.
  2. Click Export from the ribbon and select Export selected campaigns and ad grous.
  3. After making necessary changes to the exported file, save the file.
  4. Click Import from the ribbon and select Import from a file.
  5. Select the previously saved file and click OK.
  6. Use the drop-down lists to adjust any Bing Ads column headings to match those in your import file, then click Next.
  7. Review the Import summary to see what entities were newly added, updated or couldn't be imported (skipped).
  8. If you want to review the details of the campaigns and make changes, click the link next to Download the details.
  • Unmatched columns will not be imported.
  • You can optionally edit destination URLs and choose to share identical sets of ad extensions between campaigns.
Create the file using a Bing Ads template and import the file backexpando image

First, you need to download the template from Bing Ads and then you need to add your data.

  1. Download the template from Bing Ads. The template contains examples for your reference. Replace the data in the template with your campaign data.
  2. Select File and then Save as.
  3. Type a name for the import template. Use quotation marks around the name and include .csv at the end. For example, "YourFileName.csv". The quotation marks will not appear in your final file name but are used to prevent Excel from adding ".txt".
  4. Select Unicode Text, and then click Save.
  5. Click Import from the ribbon and select Import from a file.
  6. Select the previously saved file and click OK.
  7. Use the drop-down lists to adjust any Bing Ads column headings to match those in your import file, then click Next.
  8. Review the Import summary to see what entities were newly added, updated or couldn't be imported (skipped).
  9. If you want to review the details of the campaigns and make changes, click the link next to Download the details.
  • Unmatched columns will not be imported.

Important

Dynamic search ads are currently available only in the United States and the United Kingdom. Bing Shopping Campaigns and product ads are available only in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Germany, and India.

  1. Sign in to your AdWords Editor account.
  2. Select the campaign or ad group you want to export.
  3. Under the Account menu, click Export and select Export the selected campaigns and ad groups.
  4. Save the CSV file.
  5. Make any necessary changes and save the file.
  6. In Bing Ads Editor, click Import from the ribbon and select Import from Google.
  7. Select the previously saved file and click OK.
  8. Use the drop-down lists to adjust any Bing Ads column headings to match those in your import file, then click Next.
  9. Review the Import summary to see what entities were newly added, updated or couldn't be imported (skipped).
  10. If you want to review the details of the campaigns and make changes, click the link next to Download the details.
