How do I add my credit card or other payment method?

Step-by-step instructions on how to add a credit or debit card, PayPal account, check or bank transfer, Boleto Bancário, SEPA direct debit, and virtual bank account.
Important

Only users with full permissions (Super Admins) can add, edit, or delete a payment method. Learn more about user roles.

Credit Card

Different payment methods are available, depending on your currency, billing country, and type of account (postpay threshold account or prepay account). For postpay threshold and prepay accounts, you first need to add a payment method. Then, for your ads to run you need to do one of the following:

  • Postpay threshold account. You need to set one of your payment methods as your primary payment method.
  • Prepay account. You need to add funds to your account.

Following are instructions for adding a credit or debit card. Additional instructions for other types of payment methods are below.

Add a credit or debit card (available for both postpay threshold and prepay accounts)

You can add as many credit or debit cards as you like, but you can only use one card at a time to pay your charges or fund your account. You can switch between cards at any time, and you can Add a backup payment method, in case you run into problems with your primary card (for example, it expires or is lost or stolen). You can also Add funds to a prepay account.

If you have a card set as your primary payment method, you cannot delete that card until you set another primary payment method for that account.

To verify your card, we'll make a small authorization charge (for example, $1 USD). The authorization charge will be removed from the account in a few days, and you will not be required to pay it.

  1. Click the gear icon gear icon, and then click Accounts & Billing.
  2. If you have multiple accounts, select an account from the drop-down list at the top of the page.
  3. Click the Payment Methods tab.
  4. Click Add card.
  5. Select the country or region of your card's billing address and click Next.
  6. Next to Set as, select whether this payment method is primary, backup, or just added to your list of payment methods.
  7. Enter your payment information and billing address, and click Next.
Notes
  • Bing Ads does not accept prepaid cards.
  • If your account currency is Brazilian real or Indian rupee, then the card must pay in that currency and the billing address for the card must be in that country.
  • We do not accept debit cards if your account currency is Indian rupee.

Add other types of payment methods

Add a PayPal account (available for most prepay accounts that have US dollar as the currency.) expando image

  1. Click the gear icon gear icon, and then click Accounts & Billing.
  2. If you have multiple accounts, select an account from the drop-down list at the top of the page.
  3. Click the Payment Methods tab.
  4. Click Add PayPal.
  5. Click Next, and Bing Ads redirects you to PayPal's secure site.
  6. Sign in to your PayPal account.
    If you don't have a PayPal account, you can create one at this point.
  7. Review the Bing Ads billing agreement.
  8. Click Agree and Continue.
    PayPal redirects you back to the Bing Ads Accounts & Billing page, where your PayPal account should be listed.

After you have added PayPal as a payment method, you'll need to add funds to your prepay account.

Send a check or bank transfer (available for prepay accounts) expando image

  1. Click the gear icon gear icon, and then click Accounts & Billing.
  2. If you have multiple accounts, select an account from the drop-down list at the top of the page.
  3. Click the Payment Methods tab.
  4. Click Add check/bank transfer.
  5. Select the country or region where your bank is located, and click Next.
  6. Enter your billing address, and click Create.
  7. On the Payment Methods tab, next to the check/bank transfer, click add funds and follow the instructions for sending a check or a wire transfer.
Add Boleto Bancário (available for prepay accounts based in Brazil and billed in Brazilian real) expando image

You can add a Boleto Bancário payment method at any time, but you can only use a Boleto Bancário if your billing address is in Brazil and the account currency is the Brazilian real. Boleto Bancário payments can be made at a bank, post office, lottery agent, and some supermarkets.

  1. Click the gear icon gear icon, and then click Accounts & Billing.
  2. If you have multiple accounts, select an account from the drop-down list at the top of the page.
  3. Click the Payment Methods tab.
  4. Click Add Boleto Bancário.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter a name for this Boleto Bancário that you'll recognize, and click Next.
  7. Enter your billing address and other information, and click Next.
  8. On the Payment Methods tab, next to the Boleto Bancário, click add funds.
  9. Enter a payment amount, and click Get Payment Slip.
Note

Each Boleto Bancário payment slip can only be used to make a single payment to your Bing Ads account. Every time you want to fund your account with a Boleto, you'll need to create a new one.

Add SEPA direct debit (available for prepay accounts based in Germany and billed in Euro) expando image

When you add a SEPA direct debit payment method, we validate your bank account by making a small deposit to your account and then you enter that amount in Bing Ads. This process takes some time but helps ensure the security of your account.

  1. Click the gear icon gear icon, and then click Accounts & Billing.
  2. If you have multiple accounts, select an account from the drop-down list at the top of the page.
  3. Click the Payment Methods tab.
  4. Click Add SEPA direct debit.
  5. Enter a name for your SEPA direct debit that you'll recognize, and click Next.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Fill in the form with your address and banking info, and then click Next.
  8. Review the bank account verification instructions, and then click Next.
  9. Check your bank account for a deposit from Microsoft that is between EUR 0 - 2.00. (Depending on your bank, this can take 1-3 days.)
  10. On the Payment Methods tab, click Verify this account.
  11. Enter the amount deposited to your bank account or the 3-digit code, and click Next.
  12. When you see a confirmation message, click OK.
  13. If you want to make SEPA direct debit your primary form of payment, on the Payment Methods tab, click Set.
    The word Primary will appear next to your SEPA payment method.
Notes
  • Adding funds using SEPA direct debit can take up to 5 business days for the first payment and up to 2 business days for subsequent payments.
  • Before you can associate a SEPA payment method to other accounts, you will need to have made at least one successful payment on the first account using this SEPA payment method.
  • For questions or problems with SEPA direct debit transactions, please contact your bank.
