How do I challenge a disapproval?

Learn about requesting an exception to a disapproval when you believe your ad or keyword was mistakenly disapproved. You can request exceptions for individual ads or keywords, or for multiple ads or keywords at the same time.

Disapprovals can occur when you create an ad or keyword, or during the editorial review process of the ad or keyword. For more information about disapprovals, see How do I fix a Disapproved or Approved Limited status?

If, after reviewing the Bing Ads policies, you believe that your ad or keyword shouldn't have been disapproved, you can request an exception:

  1. If an ad or keyword is disapproved as you are creating it, click the Request an exception button.
  2. In the Tell us your reason for requesting an exception box, tell us why you believe the ad or keyword meets the policies and should not have been disapproved, or why the policy in question doesn't apply.
  3. Click Save.

  1. Go to the Campaigns page and click the Ads tab or the Keywords tab.
  2. Find the affected ad(s) or keyword(s). Disapproved ads or keywords will have either Disapproved or Approved Limited listed in the Delivery column.
  3. Select the checkbox to the left of the affected ad(s) or keyword(s).
  4. Select Edit > Request exception, and then select either Selected ad(s) or All ads/keywords in this ad group.
  5. In the Tell us your reason for requesting an exception box, tell us why you believe the ad or keyword meets the policies and should not have been disapproved, or why the policy in question doesn't apply.
  6. Click Request an exception.

We'll review the ad or keyword again to ensure the right decision is made. When you submit the request, the delivery status for the ad or keyword is set to Exception under review.

The Bing Ads team responds to requests as quickly as possible -- most reviews are completed within a day. After we've reviewed your request, we'll change the status of the ad or keyword and send you an email summarizing any approvals or disapprovals.

Important

Keep in mind that if an ad or keyword is disapproved a second time, the decision is final.
