Budget paused - Definition

"Budget paused" means that your ads aren't showing. Your campaign has reached its budget limit before the end of the day or calendar month.

What it is

Budget paused means your ads aren't showing. If you reach your daily or monthly budget limit, Bing Ads pauses all your campaign's ads, putting them into budget paused status. This means all ad groups in your campaign are paused, and the ads in those ad groups are no longer displayed. Ad display will resume either at the start of the next day or the next month, depending on your campaign budget settings.

Why it's important

Bing Ads stops all campaign activity until your campaign has budget available again. If your campaign is going into "budget paused" status more frequently than you'd like, you should consider changing your budget settings.

What you need to know

If you don't take action to resume the campaign in "budget paused" status, the campaign automatically restarts at the beginning of the next day or month. To help make sure that your ads will run throughout the day or month, consider using the Daily - Standard budgeting option.

Examples

Let's say you have a monthly budget of $1,500.00. If a higher-than-expected number of clicks leads you to spend your entire budget by the 25th of that month, Bing Ads will put that campaign on "budget paused" since you have no more money to spend for the remaining days and your ads will not show for the remainder of the month.

Your campaign can also reach the "budget paused" status on a daily basis, if you've selected a daily budgeting option. Using the $1,500.00 per month example, if you are spending $50.00 a day, Bing Ads will put your campaign into "budget paused" for the rest of the day so you won't overspend your monthly budget.
